Reducing Mortgage By Applying For United States First Time Home Buyer Grants

If you need money to pay off your house and are a first time home buyer then you are not alone

. Many people need money to pay off there mortgages and have nowhere to get it. Thankfully the government offers United States First Time Home Buyer Grants.

The bad thing about taking out loans to pay your bills is that all of the money you borrowed has to be paid back. With grants, you are not borrowing money, you are being given money as a sort of gift. Government and private grants never have to be paid back because they are not loans. These grants are, in reality, free money. Now who does not like free money?

The grants are given out for a multitude of reasons. Due to the subprime mortgage crisis of 2008, many lenders stopped giving out decent rates on home loans and the prices of already bought homes plummeted. Grants are given to help alleviate some of that loss due to depreciation.

Another reason that grants are given out are to stimulate the economy. Having people hoard their money in order to pay their upcoming mortgage payments does absolutely no good for the economy. Housing grants are given so that people will keep consuming, which increases our GDP, which stimulates the economy.

There are certain requirements for being able to receive grants. You must be a citizen of the United States of America. In order to receive a first time home buyer grant, you must, as the name suggests, be a first time home buyer. Credit score and checking balances are not ever brought into the equation for deciding which applicants are chosen to receive grants.

The Federal Government is by far the largest body that gives out these grants. State and even some local governments also give out grants to home buyers. Some foundations, if they are well grounded and economically sound, can also afford to give out money and grants.

The public is generally misinformed or uninformed about the many thousands of grants that the government offers. Up to five million dollars can be given out in grant money. You must search long and hard to find the right grant to apply for.

There are several places where you can apply for a grant. Some internet sources allow you to apply online, however they require personal information, making them one of the lesser used methods. Government websites allow you to apply also and make sure there is a secure connection. Applications can also be picked up at most county and state courthouses. If you do not know where to look, you can go to your city court house and ask.

United States First Time Home Buyer Grants are the perfect opportunity to acquire financial freedom from mortgages and house payments. These grants are not really taken advantage of by the public due to misinformation or people are simply unaware of their existence. If you are in doubt about whether or not you will receive a grant, it never can hurt to apply. When in doubt, fill it out.
