Yoga Styles
Hatha Yoga. This is a system of yoga introduced as preparatory stage of physical purification that the body practices for higher meditation or Yoga.

Ashtanga Yoga. This is a system of yoga recorded by the sage Vamana Rishi in the Yoga Korunta, an ancient manuscript that is said to contain lists of many different groupings of asanas, as well as highly original teachings on vinyasa, drishti, bandhas, mudras, and philosophy.
Popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga, yoga was also often promoted as a modern-day form of classical Indian yoga. This system of yoga involves the synchronization of the breath with a progressive series of postures, which is a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. Iyengar Yoga. The Iyengar method of Yoga focuses in the in-depth study of asanas (posture) and pranayama (breath control), focusing particularly on three aspects: the development of strength, mobility and stability which are emphasized through the asanas.
