Reggae Film Festival Kingston Jamaica!

This festival is organized every year with different theme with focus on reggae music

. Reggae is filled with Social commentary, and reflections on life. Since 1972 when Jamaica's first feature film "The Harder They Come" exposed reggae to the world on its soundtrack a number of films focusing on reggae music came to cinema screen and were gathered together for the very first time in Reggae festival in Kingston Jamaica. If you take flights to Kingston you will be lucky enough to attend this event. This event is organized every year by the Jamaican Ministry of Culture with the co-sponsorship of private sector companies. This years festival was held at Jamaicas Hilton Kingston hotel from February 25th through February 27th.a large number of visitors took Kingston Jamaica flights to attend this festival.

The highlight of this years festival was Make a Film in 24 Hours competition. This festival got much popularity among both locals and those taken flights to Kingston as it included; full-length films, documentaries, and music videos from both domestic Jamaican directors and international reggae filmmakers. At the end of the festival the films were awarded as Best Film, Best Documentary and Best Music Video. This judgment was made by professionals and a little participation of audiences. Those taken cheap flights to Kingston were able to see big hits from Hawaii, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Brazil.

During the festival the Hilton Hotel was transformed into a Cinema for nightly screenings. The festival captured not only youngsters but also a large number of old and children took flights to Kingston from UK to attend this event as it also included Lunchtime screenings, a Seminar and a special Children's program to attract all types of visitors of all ages. A number of celebrities attended this festival including; pike Lee, rapper/actress Eve and Roger Guenevere Smith, and starring Denzel Washington
