Getting a rehearsal studio is a very tough task

. And if you are having a young and aspiring musician in your family household, then you may need to appreciate a bit of advice about building a studio of your own which should be sufficiently sound proof so that your neighbors do not get a pretty reason to hate you anymore.

It may sound a bit harsh to you but it is really very true that children and teenagers that are learning how to play instruments for the first time can be a bit harsh and loud for the ears, both for the adoring parents and neighbor or may be more for the neighbor as they do not have any emotional attachment that can cause noise to sound more melodious that it is in reality. If your child is having experience and study of a couple of years of music underneath his or her belt and is adventurous enough to start their own garage band, you would better hope they choose someone else house for practice.

If you are having something like an old gardening or tool shed in the back of your property, you can consider converting that space into the rehearsal space for your kid. If you can invest a little money, you can add some insulation to help dampen the sound which might even improve acoustics. Or the other method is that you can buy some moving blankets of good quality. As the good quality moving blankets are dense and heavy as well as large. These factors can combine and help you dampen the transfer of sound.

You can line the interior walls with the sound-dampening material using wire rope, eye bolts, moving blankets and some turnbuckles. The blankets can be pulled back during times the instruments aren't in play, and pulled closed when it's time to get down to music business when they are installed this way.

Eventually when your child moves on from his "garage band" days, everything can be removed without much damage to the interior walls. Or may be who knows, by then you may have gotten your second wind and decide to give his old guitar a try yourself.
