You have to communicate with each other. I will always say that communication is the fundamental building block in a relationship and without it, a relationship can't exist. Only resentment can be created from a relationship with no communication.

If you resent each other for not knowing how the other feels then how can you possible trust each other. Resentment doesn't build trust, it destroys it. You should also forget the past. Relationships take work and if you're willing to fix and build that trust again, then forget the past.

If you keep those feelings of betrayal or anger in your heart, you can't begin to start trusting your partner because you're still feeling the pain from what happened in the past. Focus on the present and what you need to do to fix the problems in your relationship.

When trust is violated and harms the person in the process, trust isn't lost....it goes away. This doesn't mean that the relationship can't be saved. Its just gonna take time to establish the trust that was lost. Remember that old saying "We always hurt the ones we love" ? This is why we can't take the people we love for granted.

If we do, we will end up hurting in a way that we can't apologize and make up for what we've done. From now on, there should be nothing but honesty and openness between the two of you. The only way to build trust is with effective communication.
