Remember These 5 Things When Studying For The Cpa Exam
You've spent your life driving towards that great job
, a huge salary and prestige. You've got your degree, obtained an education, and are ready for your career. The only thing standing in your way is studying for the CPA exam and making sure you pass it.
So, how do you do that?
1. Use the right study materials. CPA study guides are a must-have. It is worth every cent you spend on a reputable CPA study course, such as Wiley, Becker, Roger, or Yeager. Although the price may seem daunting, purchasing a study guide is a small investment to make for successfully passing the CPA exam. You have to make a purchase like this but the most important thing is to use it as not using it is basically wasting both your time and your money as you've already made the initial effort. Follow the instructions, and pave the way for smooth sailing during test time.
2. Develop a study schedule, and follow it with desperate, maniacal, die-hard devotion. Using a tool as simple as your personal calendar, plot out a study schedule for yourself. After scheduling your test date with NASBA, you want to fill every available minute with CPA study. Block out time in the evening and make sure you eliminate distractions such as a social life so you don't procrastinate. The best preparation begins in earnest six months before the test date.
3. Spot your problem spots. During your preparation, take special note of the problems that give you the most trouble. The areas that give you problems during study will also give you problems during the test. You will want to concentrate on those areas so you'll make sure they're easy come test time.
4. Practice, practice, practice. Not to sound clich, but practice is critical. You already know, in general, what's going to be on the exam. In order to be successful on the test, all you have to is practice solving the problems over and over again. The more you practice, the better you'll do. Plan to take several official practice tests, and use each one as an opportunity to identify weak knowledge areas.
5. Eat well, sleep well, live well. Although you want to do the best you can, if you're sleep deprived, powered b junk food and totally stressed out when it comes time to take the test, you're destined to fail. As much as possible, eat healthy, get sufficient sleep, exercise regularly, and remove unnecessary stress from your life. You won't be successful unless you're prepared in every area of life.
Studying for the CPA exam is grueling, but passing it is glorious. By following these five commonsense tips, you'll have nothing to worry about when test time rolls around.
