Remodeling A Home To Bring Back An Era
I have been looking for new lighting for my house and yard
. Since I live in the west, I would like something to fit in with the area, something kind of rustic looking but at the same time energy efficient, It is the new trend to "go green, but right now I am more concerned about my electric bill. The lighting fixtures in this house are seriously outdated and are beginning to break. I would like all the outside ones to match and I have a lot of doors in this house, five to be exact. It would also be nice to have some updated yard lighting that is not expensive because this happens to be a dark street.
I am also looking for a way to convert old florescent lighting in my kitchen to something not as glaring and more rustic yet at the same time, attractive. I would also like a ceiling fans in both my bedroom and living room. I would like brass or copper for the outside and maybe in the kitchen.
I have found some sites on line that show very nice pictures but they do not give the dimensions of the lights like the pendant ones that would work in the living room. I would also like some track lighting to shine on the western art work I have collected over time. I would also be nice to have some small "up" lights to shine behind my plants.
After I do all this, I will have to also update the bathroom so I will also be looking for something nice but not harsh and that will be a bit harder because I want them to fit in with what I am installing in the rest of the house. I also need some lights for reading in the living room, bedroom and recreation room. However, the vanity and bath lights all seem to hang from above and mine now are on each side, so that will take some serious searching. I will also need a small flush one for the ceiling in there because the room is quite dark. I do hope I can find some that fit in with my rustic house and not be out of character for the way it was originally built. I love this house and all its wood and large windows, so the right lighting would only enhance what is already here. I think that I would like some solar lights along the front walk and a few around the back yard, but because I have a lot of trees and bushes, I do not think that solar is my answer, even if I would like it to be. Oh well back to the task of looking on line.
