Remote Control Helicopters: The Pre Flight Checklist

, then it will; with remote control helicopters, nothing holds truer. These are complicated machinery that involves parts that might wear out, break, and other things that might occur. If not prevented, all the things that might go wrong that occur simultaneously might lead to a crash, or worse.
Pre flight checks will be able to help prevent a crash, as well as bodily injuries or even crashes. In fact, here are preflight checklists that are specific to the remote control helicopters.

1.Check all the critical nuts and bolts to make sure that they are not loose.
The excessive vibration that your helicopter might experience while in flight can cause the nuts and bolts of your helicopter to come loose, even if you use a thread lock. In order to ensure that you will have a safe flight, make sure that you check all the nuts and bolts before each flight.
2.Inspect wirings
Check for any possible damage in the wirings of your helicopter. It is essential that there are no breaks or cuts along the helicopters wiring especially along the servo plugs.
3.Test your controller functions
Do range checks to make sure that there is no interference anywhere near you, so that you are sure that you will be able to control your helicopter properly.
4.Check proper function of everything
Check the throw directions for the servos and pushrods and make sure that the helicopters swash plate is moving, as it should.
5.Check the tail belt tension
Check for the tightness of the tail belt. A loose belt can cause slippage to happen, which will ultimately lead to loss of tail control. On the other hand, a belt that is too tight will put unnecessary tension and wear on your motor, and you dont want that either.
6.Make sure that everything that is mounted is done so securely.
Check for proper mounting of all parts. You dont want anything to suddenly fall off from your remote control helicopters mid-flight.
7.Check the batteries.
Make sure that before each flight, you have fully charged batteries with you, and that you are sure that they are secured properly. Test them with a voltmeter if possible so that you may be sure that they are not under load. Inspect them for any signs of any visual damage and possible short circuits.
8.Inspect the blades and the flybars
Check the proper alignment of the rotor blades and fly bars; also check that they are secured properly, and that the dampers on them are not broken or worn out.

9.Check the fuel lines for any sign of leakage or cracks.
Because you run nitro or gas fuelled helicopters, making sure that the fuel hoses are not loose and that they are sealed properly is essential. Remember that they can come off during flight, and you dont want that.
10.Check the clutch, liner, and the bell
Give a quick visual inspection for these three parts just to make sure that they are as they should be.
