Remove Security Tool: A Quick Guide On Getting Your Life (and Your Computer) Back

Computer security is a simple fact of life these days

. With so much personal data and information stored on your desktop or laptop, its hard not to think about a comprehensive security plan. Unfortunately, for some, that includes the program Security Tool, and this is one thing you dont need in your toolbox.

Security Tool: The Rundown

Also called SecurityTool by some, this is a rogue antispyware program. Its closely related to System Security. Rogue antispyware is software that uses a variety of troublesome tactics to help encourage you to download and install the full version. Unlike many reputable programs, however, the full version doesnt have the ability to actually protect your machine from any more serious programs, and in fact, choosing to purchase it may leave your computer more at risk.

The program itself looks very much like any of the best security solutions on the market today. Theres a convincing logo in the top right corner, and it even includes a shield to resemble the popular preinstalled Windows Defender application. There are five different choices down the left menu bar, and common choices like System Scan, Protection, and Settings are among them. The right side of the program is wholly dedicated to a scanning window, and within the results pane, youll see the type of virus the program purports to have found, the file name, the complete name of the threat, and the details about that threat. Whats important to remember here, though, is that you dont actually have any of this material installed on your computer. Security Tool creates those file names on your machine so that youll be further convinced to make the purchase.

What You May Notice

If you do have Security Tool installed on your machine, youre likely to notice a number of problems almost immediately, the most prominent of which are the error messages and alerts that seem to come from your system itself. They typically say things like:

Security Tool Warning

Spyware.IEMonster activity detected. This is spyware that attempts to steal passwords from Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Outlook and other programs.

Click here to remove it immediately with SecurityTool.

OR

Security Tool Warning

Some critical system files of your computer were modified by malicious program. It may cause system instability and data loss.

Click here to block unauthorised modification by removing threats (Recommended)

These messages can come from your desktop or even your taskbar in the form of traditional pop up alerts. As with the interface, they look quite convincing. In addition to the alerts, you may also notice that you cant perform many functions. For instance, accessing Task Manager may feel like a monumental effort, and you might even see an error message when you try to access it. It commonly says something like

Security Tool

Taskmgr.exe is infected with worm Lsas.Blaster.Keyloger. This worm is trying to send your credit card details using taskmgr.exe to connect to remote host.

It also has the ability to block your access to much better solutions that are currently on the market.

Additionally, you might also notice a lacking response on the part of your computer. It starts automatically as soon as your computer does, and right away, youll see that slightly scary scan window pop up. Because this uses most of your systems resources, you wont have much room left to run any other programs. It can also run throughout any given session, increasing your level of frustration.

Fortunately, you dont have to live with Security Tool forever. There are some great removal methods that will actually help protect your computer.
