It is indeed very hard to remove unwanted odors from clothes

. Sometimes no matter how often you wash your clothes, there's always this distinctive odor which is very hard to remove. In removing odor from clothes you have to first identify what's causing the odor in the first place. There are several factors which might cause that stinky odor from your clothes; it can be from sweat, from the washer itself or from pets. The moment you have identified the real cause of the odor, it is now easier to remove the odor itself.

When you are dealing with clothing odors that comes from sweat or other body odors, you have to separate the smelly clothes from other clothes because the bacteria that are causing the odor can easily spread into other clothes. By doing this, you'll have an easier job because you only have to deal with affected clothes and not your entire laundry. Place the affected clothes into the tub and soak it into hot water and your laundry detergent for at least thirty minutes. Then squeeze it and load it into your washer and wash it normally. Again, don't place other clothes into the washer together with the affected clothes.

Odors that are caused by other factors such as pet odors are also very hard to eliminate. You can follow the direction above but this time instead of soaking it with hot water and detergent alone, you can add baking soda and a cup of vinegar.

If the odor was caused buy the washer, you have to make sure that you eliminate the odor from the machine first before doing your laundry. You can add hot water and vinegar into the washer and let it sit there for a few minutes. After that run the washer for at least two cycles to totally remove the odor from the machine.

After you have washed your clothes put it into the dryer or if the weather is really good, you may want to have it dry naturally through sunlight.
