Renaissance festival is a way of celebrating past

It is held in different parts of USA on different time frame or same. The basic nature of this festival is totally commercial and usually experience mass attendance with great pomp and show. This festival captures the every aspect of medieval era for the pleasure and entertainment of attendees. The period of October and November see the large number of people taking part and held for longer duration unlike other sessions when it is only reserved for weekends. Longer festive seasons have permanent theme parks while short term events are commemorate in fairgrounds and other public and private places.

People who generally attend renaissance festivals are historical enthusiasts, educator, entertainers and other visitors for fun and gratify. Entertainers include costumed performers, acrobats, musicians and theater artists. With medieval music in air, exquisitely decorated background in the theme of middle age and appetizing, palatable and luscious foods make visitors completely soaked in the magical period of romance and elegance.

Although the set of these fests are dominantly based on the reign of queen Elizabeth yet the reign of Henry VIII, Vikings and pirates form later periods are also included. Now-a-days people do tend to portray fantasy characters like elves and wizards. It is also a noted fact that renaissance fair is not exclusive to USA, it is commemorate in European countries too but in different fashion altogether. Where American version is more emphasized on amusement park along with shopping of historical artifacts whether it is medieval clothing or any other things but, in European countries it is based on living history museum model in which historical enactors play historical acts for visitors in real historical sites.

US styled renaissance fairs are more about shopping, drinking, eating and enjoying Farce. Lets talk about Renaissance festival of a few US cities.

Arizona Renaissance Festival mainly takes place at State Highway 60 east from February to April in manner of US stylized fairs. As stated earlier, this occasion is all about amusement park, music, comedy, daring acts and shows, shopping and indulging. Interactive entertaining shows are presented on 12 stages daily by hundreds of characters to entertain visitors.

This interactive outdoor event held in Michigan too and famously called Michigan Renaissance Festival. The large setup of this fest took place at Holly Township and Groveland Township of Michigan where many permanent sets has been built over the year only for this event. Large number of actors acts as pirates, Vikings, wenches, nobles, rogues and wizards. Mid-American Festival is owner of this event.

In Texas this themed festival started in the mid of 1970s at an old strip mining site. Texas Renaissance Festival is the largest and renowned event among the various occasions which are organized in America. Daily 200 performances are enacted by hundreds of performers. Open for public on weekends, thanksgiving Friday, October to November and for school students.

American style of renaissance fairs has spread in countries like Germany and Canada even expanding in far off Asian countries.
