Renting A Car Is Never A Sure Thing

Renting a car seems pretty easy, doesn't it? You show up at the airport after a long flight and go to the rental car agency stand and pick up your car and go to your vacation destination

, right? Actually that is wrong. And you don't want to find that out the hard way. Chances are that you are using a rental car on a vacation and do not want to deal with the hassles that come with renting a strange car that doesn't have your radio stations programmed the way you want. Do some homework and make sure you know what you are getting and have a great trip.

Sometimes a person arrives to pick up a car in a foreign country and is completely baffled by the rules and regulations, not to mention the driving laws. Remember, you are supposed to abide by the laws of the country you are driving in, not just the ones you are used to back home in the United States. You might get a car in a foreign country that is badly damaged. You have to remember that the rental car company has your credit card number and you are at their mercy, so take photos of your car before you drive it out of the rental car parking lot.

Some people simply don't feel like taking the time to read their rental agreement and that is simply stupid. The people you rent the car from has your credit card number and is free to use that number to charge you for any tolls or other issues that might arise and that's the last thing you want. You can get the bill and question the charges but all that the rental car agency will do is inform you that you agreed to pay for those tolls when you signed the rental car agreement.

There is also the possibility that you might have an incident that damages the rental car even if it is not your fault. It happens in big cities and towns and you might not even notice it because it is so slight, but you can rest assured that the rental car company will notice it and hit you with a big bill for any damages, and they will also include late fees if the bill is not paid in a timely manner.

Most rental car companies are trustworthy and even the smaller ones are usually reliable, but you just have to make sure you are working with reputable people when renting a car. Once you end your vacation it is nice to have only good memories and not a bunch of bills in the mail for something that you don't even remember.
