is one of the more popular materials to be used to make kitchen and bathroom sinks. However, accidents do happen and even this sturdy material runs the risk of getting broken. The damage may be the result of being struck by a heavy object or simply due to everyday wear and tear.
Although ceramic may not be as easy to fix as some of the other materials, a few easy to use and simple tips can help you repair your sink and save a few hundred dollars.

Some of the essential equipment required to repair a ceramic sink include white putty, drill machine and a dry cloth.
1.The Preparation: Begin by surveying the crack to ascertain if it is wide enough to accommodate enough plastering for a strong hold. If the crack is a slight one, it is better to make it a bit large by drilling the edges for better friction and superior grip.
2.Get Good Quality Putty: There are many excellent quality brands of putty available in the market, which have textures similar to ceramic. These can easily be molded into the required shape and develop a strong seal when dry.
3.Applying the Putty: The putty has to be properly mixed before it can be used. You can find the instructions for preparing the putty on its cover. Once ready, use a trowel or knife to fill the entire crack. You should make sure that the complete crack is filled with putty. Smooth the surface to resemble the original shape of the sink and remove the extra plastering.
4.The Last Step: Wait for a few minutes to allow the plastering to dry up a bit and then smooth the surface completely using a damp cloth. Leave the sink like that for a few hours until the putty is totally dry. Be sure not to pour water in the sink in the mean time as it may make the putty hold weak. Once it is completely dried, take a dry cloth and make the surface as even as possible.
