Repairing A Toilet Leak

The home toilet is a place which needs constant cleaning and maintenance

. It is also the place where most of the sanitation problems occur. Most problems could be overcome by homeowner himself and in most cases he needs to call a professional plumber. Leakage of toilet is also another common problem which results in anxiety i.e. calling a plumber, paying him fees, valuable time spending etc. But do not worry; in next few lines I am going to describe that how you can fix toilet leaks by yourself without spending a single penny. You just need to understand some basic things about the functioning of toilet system.

The functioning of toilet system is very easy; the arm which you can see outside the toilet bowl pulls the special packing generally known as rubber flapper. As you pull the flapper the water will be flushed out in to the toilet bowl. The water pressure flushes the entire material place in the toilet bowl into the drain. At this stage you will hear some sound of water which is coming due to its pressure in toilet bowl. If you hear some kind of unfamiliar sound then there may be a chance that the seal of flapper has been broken. The damage of this seal, cause leakage of toilet bowl.

If you are suspicious about whether your toilet bowl is leaking or not, you need not to worry about it, just examine it with the help of simple and easy test which will enable you to sort out the exact location of leakage. Pour some drops of food color in the water of toilet bowl and forbid everyone in the home to use that toilet.

After half an hour; if you find the symptoms of any color in the bowl it means that your toilet bowl is leaking. The leak in general is not going to harm you but in actual terms it is going to escalate your water bill. So it is in your best interest to fix the leakage of your toilet bowl.

First of all turn off the water supply vale to the toilet bowl and then empty the toilet bowl from water. Now remove the rubber flapper from the bowl and purchase the new one in order to replace it. Besides this make sure that you have examined all the plastic pipes connected with the toilet bowl. Leakages in that pipe causes overflow of water in toilet bowl. Adjust the flush ball.

If you carefully analyze that the water is coming from the handle of the toilet bowl, you may simply need to re adjust the flush ball because this leak means that the flush ball is placed on much height than its original location.

Readjust it and stop leakage, if you sort out that flush ball of the toilet has been damaged or broken then the right solution is to replace the damaged flush ball with the new one which could solve your leakage problem permanently.
