Why is it that procrastinating is easier than simply getting the job done

? We put off and put off a job because it seems overwhelming to undertake the task. A new roof is a perfect example of this. Our roof might leak with heavy rain, we might have lost shingles in a heavy windstorm, it just might be antiquated needing a new facelift. Whatever the reason for needing a new roof the reasons for not doing it are just as long. Too much work, too much money, too much time are among the top reasons for putting off this important home improvement job.

While it is true that applying a new roof would be a lot of work if done solo, roofing contractors in Atlanta will make the job much easier. They will show up, remove the old roof and apply a new one all in about a week or less. Too much money is the second complaint, get several bids and quotes, do some of the work yourself like demolition and a little shingle stapling. The more you do, the more you save.

The second project that is easily procrastinated is new driveway, walks or patios. Same as roofs, you can always patch it up for one more year. Last year we finally broke down and had new concrete laid on the side yard, addition to the patio and a new driveway. It actually was more cost effective than we thought and the new concrete has been wonderful. I was surprised at the facelift it gave our home. Looks cleaner and newer and we love the back patio for ping-pong and barbequing. It has been money well spent. We tried to save a little by removing the old concrete ourselves. It took 2 months of jack hammering and carting it away. I wouldn't recommend this. We didn't save enough to make it worth it. It was a lot of work.

A new deck is a project you have to decide whether or not it is worth your time to do it yourself or hire a contractor to do it for you. Cement, landscape and roofing contractors here in Atlanta are eager for the work so get plenty of bids to make the job work for you. Whatever your dream project be it a new deck, new concrete, new windows or a new roof, hire competent people to get the job done right, the first time.
