, college-preparatory boarding schools to military-style schools to troubled teen boarding schools to residential treatment centers. Each of these serves a need for the audience they cater to.
When students are removed from their home environment, they must learn how to live with, trust and respect their peers and teachers in a new environment. It provides small classes and heightened interaction between students and their teachers, and the unique residential environment promotes camaraderie between students as a result of their common experience.
It prepares students well for the college experience, as they have already learned to live away from home, and to live with and among their peers.
College-preparatory residential aim to prepare students for the academic rigors of college life. Some of these schools are single sex schools, while some are co-ed.
