Rest, If You Must, But Don't You Quit!

Do you ever just feel like life is getting you down and you want you through the towel in?

I think we have all felt that way one time or another, I know I used to feel like it a lot.

There were times when the black clouds of doubt would surround me and put me into a negative and un-resourceful state.

When I was in this negative and un-resourceful state I found it impossible to be my usual happy and positive self.

This negative state effected everything from my mood to my results, I was lacking focus and found it almost impossible to concentrate.

There were times when I felt like giving up, when I felt like quitting.

Whenever I felt like quitting I would remember the "Don't Quit" poem.

You must never give in, never back down, never think that it's a good idea to quit.

"Winners never quit, and quitters never win" that's just the way it is.

When you refuse to entertain the idea of quitting you will find that a funny thing happens, the idea of quitting begins to shrink in your mind.

You will think about quitting less and less, and then eventually it will be impossible for you to contemplate quitting.

Yes, life can be harsh.

And yes, life can beat you up a bit.

But that is definitely no excuse to quit.

You never know how close you are to a breakthrough, if you quit you will never know, and the not knowing is painful enough.

You do have to "stick to the fight when you're hardest hit" you do have to keep getting back up when you have been knocked down for the umpteenth time.

There is only one other alternative, and that is to live with the pain of regret.

I don't know about you, but when judgement day comes I want to sit there and smile, and only regret the things that I have done in my life and not regret the things that I failed to do because they were too difficult and because I chose to quit.

When you feel like you have taken all that you can take and you are tempted to utter those energy sapping, soul destroying words, I want you to remember two quotes from one of the greatest English Prime Ministers of all time, Sir Winston Churchill.

"If you are going through hell, keep going"

"Never, never, never quit"
