Dental Crowns

The impressions are then sent to a dental lab, where they will take approximately two to three weeks to create your permanent crown. In between appointments, your dentist will install a temporary crown for you to wear.

Once your permanent crown arrives, your dentist will do a final check to ensure that the coloring and fit are correct. If they are, he or she will then cement the crown in place. After this, the process will be complete and you will be free to leave the office and start enjoying your new and improved smile.

Dental Bridges

While crowns are used for restorations to chipped or broken teeth, dental bridges are utilized to replace missing teeth. A dental bridge is a replacement tooth or teeth that are held in place on either side by dental crowns. To install a bridge, your dentist will begin by using local anesthesia to numb your teeth and then filing down the two teeth that will receive dental crowns. After this, he or she will take an impression of the area, which will then be sent to a dental lab for construction. In the meantime, your dentist will give you a temporary bridge to wear.

Once your permanent bridge arrives, your dentist will examine it closely to make sure that it fits correctly in your mouth. If it does, he or she will then cement it into place and the process will be complete.
