Retire Early - Tips On Budgeting Part One
All people has desires to stop working soon
All people has desires to stop working soon. Astoundingly there are various costs you will need to take into consideration after your working years are done. The beauty with retirement life is that you can simply spend less cash and do even more but only if you've used the proper strategy over time. So how could you retire as soon as possible? Is there some magic formula that only a few men and women know? This article will focus on how to manage money and a couple of tips on budgeting so that you can be one of the lucky few to make more of your life when you call it quits.
Retirement By The Numbers:
Let's assume that you'll be 60 when you decide to receive the golden handshake and sail off into the sunset. If you have led the right pathway, you have ended up saving enough over the years to make that happen. The actual issue is; what is the amount of money you are going to need to retire in comfort? That all would depend on what you might have planned. If your preferred situation is to devote your energy baking cookies, doing charity work and spending time with your grand kids than your expenses are going to be enormously different from somebody who intends to buy a sail boat and sail throughout the entire world for 20 years. Either possibility does sound unbelievable. The great thing is you have the potential at this very point in time to save as much or as little as you need by learning all of the tips on budgeting possible. It simply means you must know how to manage money now.
Just How Much is Enough:
As I suggested before it all depends on your plans but let us start out at the low end of the totem pole. Hopefully by age 60 you will be mortgage and more or less debt free and have limited expenses.
Monthly Break Down:
Utilities/Home Taxes.......... $800
Food............................... $500
Auto insurance.................. $125
Home Insurance.................. $75
T.V/Phone/Internet............... $150
MISC................................ $750
Holiday............................. $400
Automobile................................ $200
MONTHLY TOTAL............. $3000
YEARLY TOTAL............. $36,000
To easily break down this budget your primary expenses of living are entirely covered. You'll be able to have enough money for two all inclusive holidays each year that would cost you $2500 each. The last time I looked you can get away to a 5 star vacation resort in Aruba $1500. Not bad.
So, assuming you are able to live in health until you happen to be 80 you'll need 20 years at $36,000 saved up. I'm going to round up this total to $40,000 per year to take care of any unforeseen expenses. This makes a total amount of $800,000 in liquid assets for you and your partner. If you know how to manage money you'll know how to make this possible.
In our next article I'll go through how you can actually make this happen and it's a great deal more hassle-free than you might believe.
