Revamping Your Home On A Budget.

Many of us will take genuine pride in the way our home looks

. After all, it is our own little space and it is important that we get it looking exactly how we like it. But it doesnt have to cost the Earth to shape it to our individual taste. Besides, we dont all have a large budget when it comes to buying new furniture or household items!

The good news is that there are usually a number of alternatives out there that can save you a great deal of money in the pursuit of your ideal home. It is possible to totally transform your living space without doing serious damage to your finances at the same time.

Here are a few ideas to help you on your way

Decorating.

Now here is a grey area! The thought of paint and wallpaper can really separate the men from the boys. If you normally pay someone else to do it all for you then why not have a go yourself? Most things will seem pretty daunting until you have done them once. It really isnt rocket science and you may even find that you enjoy it.

Wallpaper.

Same subject, but a different area... If you are out shopping for wallpaper, then make sure you check the reduced section. Most home improvement stores will have discontinued lines and you may just find enough rolls to paper your room that will be the perfect match for the Silk fabric of your curtains and cushion covers!

Furniture.

Do you really need to buy a new sofa? If it is just a case of it not fitting in with your new colour scheme then why not buy a nice throw for it instead? You can find just about any colour imaginable on the internet and they are all far cheaper than a brand new sofa.

Curtains.

If you are trying to give a room a whole new look, then new curtains are an absolute must. There are plenty of cheap outlets that are worth having a look at or you could even dust off the sewing machine and make your own! Why not find your nearest haberdashery and see what Curtain fabric they keep in stock?

Carpet.

Try to settle on a plain coloured carpet for each of your rooms as these are normally the cheapest option. When you visit a carpet store, your first port of call should be the roll end section. Some of these carpets are surprisingly large and you may just find yourself a bargain!

Modernism.

If you are unsure of exactly what kind of look you would like for your home, then how about making it really modern? That doesnt mean expensive electrical gadgets; it is all about making your furnishings as simple and plain as possible. This can be a great style to adopt if your funding is limited. There are some really low-priced pieces of furniture to be found that will fit in perfectly with a Modernist theme.
