? Well if you're like me, you might just be in the position where you have to use one, whether you like to or not. Using a reverse directory to find out who owns a phone number--either land line or mobile, is a great way to learn a whole lot about who's on the other end of the anonymous phone line. That's what I did, and it caught my spouse red handed. If you're in a similar situation or just want to stop a prank caller, I highly recommend using a reverse phone directory to "solve the mystery." Here's how to do it: Step 1.) Get the 10 digit phone number and check it for errors. Make sure it has the proper area code. If you got the number via caller ID or a cell phone recent calls list, double check it against wherever you found it. Step 2.) Locate a reverse phone directory you'd like to use. This is probably the most important step since you need to either use a service like Reverse Phone Detective that checks every database (like Verizon's, AT&T, T-Mobile) or find the carrier specific directory which is very difficult to do and not guaranteed to work. That's why I always suggest Reverse Phone Detective since it's what I used to catch my spouse in the act. Step 3.) Head on over to the site and enter in the phone number, hit "Submit" or "Next" and follow the on screen prompts to the information you want. If you're tracking down a prank caller, call the cops on them and offer up their information. If you're trying to catch your girlfriend or boyfriend, take the information and take whatever steps are necessary. Who knows, the person texting them at all hours could just be their friend, but don't count on it. Perform your search right away.
