Review: Samsung 7 Series Chronos Notebook

The Samsung Series 7 Chronos Laptop lives up to the hype with regards to performance but does it deliver as the complete multimedia device?

What the latest model lacks in movability it more than makes up for in terms of performance. The seven series is somewhat bulkier than the nine series but still delivers on portability while boasting an impressive battery life. A recent study showed that the Chronos has a battery life which is 60 ninety mins longer than most of its rivals.

The brand new 7 Series Chronos is fantastic for the office or home with its stylish yet subtle brushed Aluminium finish. This tends to make it ideal for people who regularly travel as fingerprints & scuffs are not as visible as with the MacBook Air. The sleek silver lid is solid at the edges to keep the display from bending and even the centre is surprisingly firm to protect the display. The keyboard also has an Aluminium finish with a firm case housing the lustrous looking keys which are nicely separated to enable swift and easy typing.

The 15.6-inch screen stretches practically to the edge of the lid, with only a slender bezel in place. A sharp 1600 x 900 resolution keeps images sharp & clean, regardless of whether you're preparing an end of quarter presentation or enjoying an HD movie. There is no glossy coating either, so that you can use the Chronos outdoors or in brightly-lit interiors.

This high performance device is capable of running any software without reducing the pace of core operating functions.

Avid gamers & multimedia fans are also catered for, thanks to the dedicated AMD graphics card. While the latest video games wont run with full graphics settings, they still work fine on medium detail levels, which is still an development on quite a few of the Chronos rivals.

If you need a device to keep you entertained on the move, the Chronos' generous 750GB harddrive gives you sufficient space for your games, films and music. A slot-loading DVD drive has also been packed into the slender body.

If you'd rather use this laptop computer as a home entertainment machine, it includes a HDMI port, which could be used to hook up televisions or
