We hate made-in-China products due to the low quality and also we are attracted to them because of their cheap prices, especially in the electronics market. Not everyone can afford a made-in-Apple, but everyone has some needs of technology electronics. And here comes China's electronics online shops.

There're hundreds of millions of online websites from China trying to sell their products to the western customers directly. The competition is quite intense, so it's hard to stand out. But some websites did it. And here I would take Dealextreme, PickEgg and Chinavasion as examples.

Some online shops are typically the textbook of Made-in-China, like Dealextreme. Both customers and the competitors are shocked by the pricing there, it's really really low! It's hard to believe that you can really buy some electronic stuff at such a low price, but it's true. And that's how Dealextreme becomes the nightmare of their competitors. Many China wholesalers get beaten down in the price fight. However, Dealextreme has its own issues. Because of the low pricing, their revenue is not enough to support their expansion. And product quality has always been an issue.

Learning from Dealextreme, some stores focus more on the quality and try to attract consumers with relatively low price and fair quality. And they also take customers' satisfaction into consideration. Take PickEgg as an example here. They can't compete with stores like Dealextreme in Pricing. Alternatively, they pay more attention on the quality part and their products are located to be "fun gadgets". Laser pointers, tablet pcs and Apple accessories are their featured categories. They try every way to keep a potential customer and turn them into a buyer. It's a slow but good way to do business. But problem is you can't 100% guarantee that your products are all in good condition when your customer receive it. The shipping problem has been a big obstacle for PickEgg for a while. But till now, they survived the fierce competition and they are doing great here.

The third type of China wholesalers feel ashamed about the reputation of Chinese products in the world market. So they are trying to rebuild the reputation by providing quality products with high technology. Chinavasion is one of them. From the quantity, category and price part, Chinavasion cannot compete with PickEgg or Dealextreme. And some customers are disappointed because they don't always find what they want here. But their products are mostly basic on high and latest technology, and that makes them enjoy a sound reputation in the world market.
