The Dell Latitude E5500 is the laptop that I am currently posting from

. I have had it for a few months now and its primarily used at school and for updating Entrepreneurs Technology. After a bit of research, I chose this laptop over comparable others for a few reasons- it was more business oriented than others, didnt break the bank at $519, and it came with more USB ports (4) than others that I was looking at- and I can assure you that they all get used. At any given time, I can have a Flash Drive, printer, Ipod cable, and wireless mouse attached to the computer and I would not be able to do all of this with any of the other laptops that I was looking at. The Latitude came with the following:

* 15.4 screen, which was a compromise of the 13 and 17 laptops that I was looking at

* Windows Vista Home Basic- one of the drawbacks that I see in this computer. After using it, I would much rather use Windows 7, but beggars cant be choosers

* Intel Core 2 Duo Processors

* A 9-Cell battery that claims up to six hours of use, depending on the power plan chosen. Speaking from experience, the battery lasts me closer to 3. But this includes the use of Wifi, the internet, numerous internet windows, and a word processor. I believe that the battery could last up to 6 hours with light use.

Overall, I really only have a few gripes: the lack of a webcam and the Windows Vista operating system that it came with. Both of those problems will be corrected in the near future, however. I have been using a HP webcam and will review it shortly and as for Vista, I will install Windows 7 when I get back to school, and post a review on that, too.

All in all, if youre looking for a good business-oriented laptop, you cant go wrong with the Dell Latitude E5500.
