One of the leading brands in water heaters is Rheem

, produced and distributed by Rheem Manufacturing Company. They've been around for over 80 years and Rheem water heaters and their other products can be found all over the country. Let's take a look at the company itself to understand a bit more about their products.

It all started back in 1927. The Rheem brothers, Richard and Donald, opened the doors of a manufacturing company that made products for petroleum companies. They made it through the stock market crash in 29 and the Great Depression that followed. It wasn't long before they had switched to HVAC equipment rather than the niche market they began in.

The office of today's Rheem Manufacturing Company is in sunny Atlanta, Georgia. The company still sells heating, ventilation and air cooling equipment including but not limited to water heaters and air conditioners. In fact, each of these two specific fields has their own division within the Rheem company.

Separate brands that are part of the Rheem family include Ruud, a name that offers both water heating and air conditioning. Solahart and Raypak as well as The Paloma Group and Paloma Tankless are also part of the larger Rheem Manufacturing Company. They create and sell HVAC replacement parts under the brand name Pro-Tech. A brand Rheem used to own as well is Rheem Califone. This short-lived brand name from Rheem specialized in making air and ventilation products and equipment for schools, institutions and the like.

Starting in 2006, Rheem Manufacturing Company chose to sponsor Keven Harvick of Nascar. At the time, he drove car #33 in the Nascar Nationwide Series. As Keven Harvick, nicknamed Happy Harvick, no longer drives in this series, the sponsorship has since ended.

Keven Harvick started out driving go-karts when he was still in kindergarten and he continued into his teen years. He won nine significant national championships in this circuit and competed in high school wrestling in the off season for racing. In 1992, he drove in Nascar for the first time driving late models. He was still in high school so could only drive part time.

When he graduated, his dad built him a car and he raced full time. He started to make a mark in 2001 when he was selected to be the late Dale Earnhardt's replacement. The year before he took the replacement seat, he won Rookie of the Year. It was a spot of honor because Earnhardt had been a living legend and this helped to increase Harvick's popularity.

Rheem water heaters are really just the beginning of the Rheem Manufacturing Company. From parts manufacturing to Nascar sponsorships, the reach of this one company is wide. The started out small but today offer everything from water heaters to air conditioning units..
