Luxury cars are the dream for many of us, but the current economic climate pushes them out of reach for many of us

With the world's credit being crunched, purchasing a luxury car is not something that many of us are able to do as it is increasingly unlikely that we will be able to get credit on the vehicle of our dreams. Many reputable dealerships will also ensure that these vehicles are fully valeted, cleaned and waxed, right down to the new car smell; it's not exactly the same as having a brand new car, but it's as close as many of us will get and for most of us, it's just as good a quality vehicle, though it misses some of the image advantages of purchasing a new vehicle.

Purchasing a brand new car is one of the least economical ways that we can spend money; cars depreciate in value rapidly. Indeed, some lose over 10,000 pounds in value the instant that they leave the forecourt, but many will hold their value for a long time on the used market, making a used Lexus, BMW or Audi a much more intelligent investment as the initial outlay will be smaller and the value of the used car held for longer.

Saving money is the thought on everybody's minds right now, thanks to the increasingly gloomy financial outlook, but by the same token, transport is a necessity for many people. We spend a lot of time in our vehicles and if the opportunity is available, why not make that journey more comfortable, stylish and potentially economical on fuel by driving a used Lexus, BMW or other luxury car? Although it may cost more than a vehicle from a lower price bracket, chances are that you will get a better quality of car which will last longer, save you money on fuel and maintenance and will also be a great deal more comfortable to drive.
