These vehicles cannot be driven on the city beaches, but the desert provides lots of sand which is necessary for ATVs and quads. The best part is if you own or rent these vehicles, most resorts in Puerto Penasco will allow you to park in designated spaces.

Competition Hill is one of most amazing and popular places to ride these vehicles. This hill is located right by Cholla Bay and is a 300 foot long, sandy hill. You enjoy the sea view on one side and a view over a cliff on the other! On this particular hill, you can ride your ATVs day and night completely legally. In fact, in some town streets, quads are allowed on the road. Police are tolerant in certain streets. But please confirm if off-road vehicles are allowed before hand with the authorities before venturing into any public areas.

Many of us have not really tried ATVs or quads before. But no worries; rental stores and training courses are available in Rocky Point. Rental prices range from $15-20 USD an hour and discounts on daily rentals. Make sure you carry your drivers license with you. Just show the license, sign the rental agreement and have the ride of your life!
