Rihanna Tickets - She's On The Battleship!

Pop star Rihanna is getting ready to sink your battleship! The "Disturbia" singer

has plans to make her official debut in Hollywood with the upcoming movie Battleship. The concept of the film revolves around the classic board game and puts a sci-fi twist on all of the action. The film will see naval officers and their ships battle against alien invaders. The filming is expected to begin shortly and a release date is currently set for May 2012.

The other Rihanna news that has been buzzing through the music industry lately is her collaboration with rap star Eminem. The star recently talked with Access Hollywood about her decision to join Eminem on the track "Love the Way You Lie." She said, "It's something that, you know, [Eminem and I have] both experienced, you know, on different sides, different ends of the table."

Continuing, she referred to both of their differing experiences with domestic violence: "It was believable for us to do a record like that, but it was also something that needed to be done and the way he did it was so clever. He pretty much just broke down the cycle of domestic violence and it's something that a lot of people don't have a lot of insight on." The pairing of the two stars apparently worked well because the track currently holds the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Now that she's shared a microphone with Eminem, Rihanna has been looking elsewhere for musical collaborations. She recently told the Daily Gossip that she has her eyes set on Lady Gaga for her next shared song. "A collaboration between Gaga and myself would be really cool because we do a similar type of music and we both really love fashion. I'm sure it would be a very hot and sexy video."

Rihanna has managed to become quite the star in the dance-pop industry, first debuting on the music scene with her smash hit song "Pon de Replay" in 2005. Her debut album Music of the Sun also spawned another hit single called "If It's Lovin' That You Want." However, it wasn't until her sophomore record, A Girl Like Me, that Rihanna really hit the big time. The album had three big singles with "S.O.S.," "Unfaithful" and "Break It Off."

Rihanna kept her calendar busy by releasing a third album in 2007 called Good Girl Gone Bad. This was entirely a dance-pop record that featured high profile collaborations with big stars like Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, Timbaland and StarGate. "Umbrella," "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia" all rocketed to the number one spot on the charts, solidifying Rihanna's growing status in the industry. Her latest full length album, Rated R, was released in 2009 and spawned the hot single "Russian Roulette."
