Rim Introduce The Brilliant Blackberry 9300 Curve 3g
The Blackberry 8900 Curve was an excellent mobile phone that was let down by its lack of 3G coverage
. The manufacturers have resolved this problem on the new 9300 Curve 3G, a phone that is streets ahead in terms of connectivity, but one that has also taken a step backward in other areas such as the display.
The handset itself has seen an overhaul in regards to design, with some smart touches that echo the Pearl 3G, with the sides of the phone now sporting a rubber coating which makes the phone feel comfortable in the hand. The metallic look found on early models also makes a reappearance, adding a touch of class to proceedings. The handset itself measures 109 x 60 x 14mm, which makes it relatively compact considering the number of keys the phone accommodates. At a weight of just 109 grammes the handset is very lightweight for a smartphone. Across the top of the phone you will find three media keys, ideal for accessing your audio files whilst on the go. One side of the phone houses the micro USB port and the handy 3.5mm headphone jack. The design of the handset is pleasing enough, the front panel tapers downward towards the edges, leaving the handset with a slightly "curved" look. The keypad on the phone is an improvement on previous models, feeling much more solid with less general movement. Each key is individually isolated and very responsive to touch. The 2.4" inch screen on the phone is fairly basic at 320 x 240 resolution and offering 65 thousand colours. Navigation around this screen is performed via a trackpad beneath the screen, which offers a very good alternative to the traditional touchscreen.
The attraction of Blackberry handsets is the excellent messaging facilities on offer, however for these to be effective then the device needs to have excellent connectivity. The Blackberry 9300 Curve 3G, as the name suggest, boasts of its utilisation of the excellent 3G network. This offers the user excellent data access whilst on the move. This is perfect for you to keep up to date with your inbox, or for downloading applications from the excellent Blackberry App World. To achieve even faster speeds, use of a WiFi network is required, but when you do connect to such a network the handset is lightning quick. Thus, whether at home, work or on the move, your Blackberry maintains an excellent connection. Due to this the handset also supports push e mail notifications, which are basically real time updates on the status of your inbox. Instead of logging in to see if you have received mail, the handset will let you know when it arrives, just like an SMS message.
The Blackberry 9300 Curve 3G is more than just an excellent messaging phone. It offers a host of other functions and a modern design, in what is an all together very comprehensive entry level smartphone package.
