. The manufacturers have resolved this problem on the new 9300 Curve 3G, a phone that is streets ahead in terms of connectivity, but one that has also taken a step backward in other areas such as the display.

The handset itself has seen an overhaul in regards to design, with some smart touches that echo the Pearl 3G, with the sides of the phone now sporting a rubber coating which makes the phone feel comfortable in the hand. The 2.4" inch screen on the phone is fairly basic at 320 x 240 resolution and offering 65 thousand colours. Navigation around this screen is performed via a trackpad beneath the screen, which offers a very good alternative to the traditional touchscreen.

The attraction of Blackberry handsets is the excellent messaging facilities on offer, however for these to be effective then the device needs to have excellent connectivity. The Blackberry 9300 Curve 3G, as the name suggest, boasts of its utilisation of the excellent 3G network. This offers the user excellent data access whilst on the move. To achieve even faster speeds, use of a WiFi network is required, but when you do connect to such a network the handset is lightning quick. Instead of logging in to see if you have received mail, the handset will let you know when it arrives, just like an SMS message.
