Rituals That Rock for Student Time Management

When you do things in the same way each and every time, what happens? That's 100% right, these actions become habits. Soon, you don't even have to think about them anymore, they seem to happen on their own.

To create a study ritual, find a couple of places where you will generally be studying. This could be at your desk in your room, a favorite secluded spot in the library no one knows about, or the cushy chair in your local coffee shop. Doesn't matter. Just make it the same place as often as possible.

Take a few deep breaths and prepare your mind to take in and process quickly the information you'll be learning. As you sit down, sit up straight, see the goal, and begin.

Each time you go to study, think the same positive result thoughts, see yourself in your future career, which came about because you graduated from college, which happened because you enjoyed school and did well, and made a good grade on this test you're studying for.

That's your ritual that will help to mentally prepare you to take in info and retain it.

Have your materials ready by placing things where you need them. There is nothing more frustrating for a person who wears reading glasses to have to spend 10 minutes looking for a pair of specs each time she sits down to read.

Have you ever sat down to study only to waste a good 10 to 15 minutes, or maybe more getting all of your stuff in order?

It's time to play the "a place for everything" game. That means that if you need a calculator, it's in one place, all the time, and you can count on that. When you're done, you return it right there.

A big tip here, it's worth it to you to have more than one of most smaller items you use all the time. You may even want to have a backpack, or briefcase that has a spot where you keep a second set of reading glasses, a calculator, blank CD's, whatever it is you know you'll need.

As you walk to this study spot, picture your end result. The A on your paper, the terrific score on your test, whatever. Now, think back to what you need to do to put yourself into that position to get that desired result.This will save you so much time and aggravation; you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
