Robert E Wright

Although his students in University of Pennsylvania and Princeton would only recognize

him as one of the most respected and engaging professors, the rest of the world know Robert E Wright as one of the journalists from BloggingHeads.tv. Raised by a strict but loving Southern Baptist couple in a military setting, Robert had all the makings of an authoritarian figure who would only be comfortable in a traditional and conventional environment. He deviated from people"s expectations of him, however, when he became interested and passionate about Internet journalism. After managing his own website Meaning of Life in 2002, Wright became one of the key personalities behind Bloggingheads.TV with his old colleague Greg Dingle and new partner Mickey Kaus. The website would be eventually known as one of Internet"s most popular diavlogs in current events. All sessions were broadcasted live or downloaded as either MP3 or MP4 and WMV video files. The website was regularly updated with new diavlogs going up 5 to 10 times each week. All these were immediately archived, thus giving viewers a chance to listen to any old diavlogs they may have missed.

Although Robert E Wright and Kaus were the main faces behind the diavlogs in Blogging Heads, they also frequently welcomed regular guests. These included the likes of Rosa Brooks, Joshua Cohen, Timothy Noah, and John Horgan. These regular guests only added to the dynamics of the diavlogs due to their differing political viewpoints. As a matter of fact, even Kaus and Wright had lively debates between them since they represented two different sides of the coin as well.

One of the most memorable interviews conducted online by Robert E Wright was that of Francis Fukuyama. The latter is one of the most well regarded political scientists in the world. During the interview, he and Wright discussed his new book America at the Crossroad. Many viewers of Blogging Heads also considered his interview of Gershom Gorenberg as one of the highlights of Wright"s career as a journalist. Gorenberg is an Israeli journalist and author of The Accidental Empire.
