Role of intenet in poverty alleviation
It is mandatory in our world, everything arises should help others because there is always a person who is devoid of something when other gets that thing. If the situation is worse, we call it as poverty and the associates as poor. People will not stop accumulating money, desires and sins until the world ends. So, an external thing other than human is required to support the deprived. Perhaps, the source of external thing remains to be human, however external thing dominates him. If you wonder what is that external things? Is it a magical thing, astonishing one or heavenly thing? Yes of course, this is more than that. Now you can assess what I am saying, it is nothing but internet. Even though, there are lot of cons over that, pros were unlimited. It is up to the user to decide on pros or cons. Here, let us see pros focusing on deprived people on society.
Here I just want to share some of the basic thing which are necessary and some case studies of that.
Respected Poor
I just want to start with good note as respected before poor. If you have the chance to speak or live with them you can accept why I gave respected as title. Many time, that respect itself will be the cause of poverty. Nowadays because of globalization, lot of advancement happening in and around us(poor). So exploiting(using harshly) to our need is in your hand. You should go towards, jump and start swimming.
First let see some of the case studies which were happened in foreign nations especially developing countries and how those people used those?
In Zimbawe:
A 50 year old father from Harare, Zimbabwe sent us an email, brimming with enthusiasm. Distressed by seeing women in his community suffer as they peel tough, sun-dried peanuts with their hands, teeth and stones, he turned to the internet, and found the universal nut sheller documented on theAppropedia wiki.
In Kenya:
A Kenyan potato farmerturned to Googleto find help when his crop was dying. He found the answer, harvested a bumper crop, connected with the Kenya Potato Growers' Association, and found a customer.
In Phillippines:
The maker of a homebiogas systemin the Philippines. He got help putting his design online, on the Appropedia wiki, and as a result got much more exposure, and received emails from around the world, with thank yous and suggestions for improvements (some of which he incorporated in his updated design). This is one of my favorite stories, because it shows that people in less developed countries are not only consumers of knowledge, but creators and sharers.
Appropediais an open wiki project, focused on technologies and practices for overcoming poverty and creating a just and sustainable world. I've been involved since early days in 2006, working on it, telling people and helping to build partnerships. But when we tell people, a reaction we sometimes get is:
But... why the assumption that they're completely disconnected? Travel in less developed countries and you'll see internet cafes in cities and villages. A home internet connection may be too expensive for local incomes, but saving up money to connect from an internet cafe is within reach of many. Now mobile phone service provides have internet connection at very low cost. People can utilize those thing and get benefited.
Blogging and Surfing:
If we have the basic knowledge of internet, we can easily create a blog, comment on a blog. We can utilized this and post our problem and its causes /solution directly. Nowadays many of the social networking sites are supporting for this. If not, you can directly post/mail you queries to the official or else directly to the media about their action. So this platform is necessarily provide us fight against poverty.
If you have exposed over thing knowledge, it is impossible for us to remain poor. So guys, let us think broaden our minds and starts utilizing those heavenly resources.
Thank you very much.

Sathiyaraj
