Roman Centurion Halloween Costumes That Rock

We have all learned our history, and the history of the Roman Civilization

, we know of all the contributions the Romans did for humanity, but we also know of there fist of steel and terrorizing approach to their surrounding poorly defended neighbors, and the evil committed over centuries.

With that said, because of their frightening nature and look, their extremely well organized war tactics in the army, The Roman soldier in history and myth has stood the test of time and the Roman look has become a well recognized icon and well copied look, especially for fancy dress parties.

In 2010, a movie titled "Centurion" made it's debut, a decent enough movie with plenty of action and great historical looking costumes. Because of the movie, another great batch of striking strong looking Roman Centurion Costumes for boys and adults have been released, anticipating great ideas for the coming Halloween.

Instead of the usual, but great looking Roman costumes, been a Centurion is so much different. First, the Centurion was a professional officer in charge of up to 80 Roman soldiers. Only the greatest Centurion would climb the ranks and be promoted to the first legion called the Primi Ordines which consisted of an army of 10 legions.

An amazing fact about the Centurion is they always fought side by side with their men, usually charging at the front to inspire their men. To even be a centurion you had to be literate, at least 30, very strong, big in built and extremely skillful . All these accessories make for an excellent costume idea. Been a Centurion is much more a better role than just been a Roman soldier and makes a better costume.

There are tons of costume ideas form these soldiers. Even as a centurion, you may be demoted or captured and imprisoned, making you become a Gladiator, which again, and especially for young boys, make some strong menacing costumes, especially when a sword and shield are waved in the air and your friends are all in the togged out in same theme, ah! the memories.

Even dressed as an adult as a Centurion, Gladiator or Roman, has some great perks, you look strong, tough and sexy, remember how Russel Crowe looked in Gladiator and what that did for his reputation. And with all the fantastic accessories that you can get for these costumes to make it unique, the fun will be endless.
