Language is a major medium of communication all around the world and it is used by human beings for various reasons.Language puts man at a higher level than animals. It is precisely for this reason that the manner of language ought to fit the occasion.This is specially true of a University or College teacher or a student.The way we speak is the best scale of judging our background and culture.With out language,a teacher cannot impressively teach the students and the students cannot gain the good books of teacher.This is true whether it is a native language or an international language like English.The latter demands more precision.

By speaking in English,a teacher not only imparts the subject to the students,but he/she also inspires the students to learn how to talk/write it.Similarly,a student too,by speaking in a well-groomed language style (i.e.,ENGLISH),creates a confidence for himself/herself.It adds dignity to their demeanor.

It is not out of point to discuss Grammar,a pre-requisite for a flawless rendition of speech or a terrific written presentation.Today when we see the way the youth use ENGLISH as they like and not adapting the standard form,it really pains.Rudimental grammar skills like Articles,Parts of Speech,Figures of speech,Idioms etc.,have to be understood well.There is so much to learn in a language.which is a very vast ocean.

Sad to say that even pepole who are highly educated are not that particular of their mode of communication.The style of the day is that it is enough if people are able to pass on the message to the target society,irrespective of the mistakes or blunders such commuication abounds in.

Besides,ENGLISH is the Royal language and it demands more exactness to it.There may be some objections to this from certain quarters,where ENGLISH is used in the most convenient way,with no hard and fast rules(called as Toasted English).But as educators,the teachers must condemn this.

Even those who cannot express the language well, do look forward to hearing a speckless,spotless and well articulated,gramatically correct ENGLISH.Otherwise the target group considers it a coarse communication.Yet out of a sheer need to hear it or read it,they accept,but derive sans pleasure.The one who talks or writes also gains an indescribable confidence to speak or write.It is not impossible even if it is started late to learn a flawless language and gain mastery over it.
