Whilst many people believe that all car mats are the same

In reality, the only time when universal mats make a sensible choice, is when budget is the primary consideration. This is how many classic car owners end up with mats that are cut to fit.

In the winter months, the choice of car mat becomes more critical. If for example, you live in an urban area, then a decent set of tailored mats will probably do the trick. If on the other hand, you live in a rural area, those mats are going to get very dirty, very quickly. Under such circumstances, you should seriously consider a set of rubber car mats, as they will last a lot longer.

Until recently, it was difficult to obtain a set of rubber mats, except universal ones. Perhaps it was due to the more complex nature of their manufacture, or higher material costs, however rubber mats cut for your make and model are thankfully now available.
