Rugby League Club The Evolution Of Its Concept

Rugby football refers both to the rugby union and the rugby league

. The union is usually played for the amateurs while the league is for the professionals who have played in worldwide competitions. This sport has truly gone through generation by generation and has travelled to different places around the globe.

Such also created a following even in the United States. But it was somehow transformed into what they call as American football. The rugby league has many followers especially in the United Kingdom and the regions in Oceania. Even countries like Australia and Papua New Guinea have taken interest with the sport. Tournaments started emerging here and there.

The sport may have had really some similarities with the American football concept; there are still bits and pieces of differences which makes the league different and a stand out. The typical American football takes more than the 80 minute matches of the rugby league. It is much slower in pace since the field is always at a reset for every tackle.

The Americans have the Super Bowl while the fans of the league enjoy instead the Rugby League World Cup. The very first one was held in 1954 and the World Cup was then adapted by each rugby league club from all over the globe. Nations started becoming members of the International Federation of the league.

The league has also reached its way to the youth. Various educational institutions have started training their students to know the sport and be masters of it. Each came up with their own rugby league club that would compete for various fan friendly tournaments to encourage new friendships and camaraderie.

This huge popularity started by the sport widely spread beyond the lines of United Kingdom that it reached nations like Australia and New Zealand. It has even crossed genders since the introduction of the rugby league club for women. This started in 2000 for the Womens Rugby League World Cup and it is New Zealand which holds the record for the best women rugby players ever to be recorded in history of the sport.
