Rugs For Life

Rugs can go beyond just a floor covering or a wall decoration

. For some people rugs could mean life. You might wonder that for what reason rug could be lined with life. There could actually be hundreds and thousands of reason to answer our query and to tell you the truth; I do not know what seems to be the reason.

Last night was an ordinary night; I was starring at the monitor of my computer hoping for a miracle to happen, thinking over of so many things. For a moment I was stopped by a certain wind. I felt a soft breeze of air touched my skin and in a minute I saw a light from above and its glaring right before me. Was this the miracle I was waiting for the whole time?

You might think that I'm insane or hallucinating but I'm not. I am perfectly fine; my state of mind is more than stable. Well, I over described the scenario to be honest. The soft breeze was true but the glaring of light were just descriptions to spice up my story. The truth is I actually thought of something that night, something related to rugs and how could it affect our lives.

Often times we hear stories of successful people, scientist, and inventors of how they all started and how they were determined to finish their experiment, to find the missing piece that would finally complete their invention, and those sleepless night and working hard all day those people are willing to put on. I then asked myself, if the rug makers also do this for their rugs, are they putting the same effort for their products. And for the rug collectors, are they that of a fan who is willing to do anything and almost everything just to have one.With this thoughts running on my mind, without any doubt I knew rugs could mean life for anyone who sell and buy it.

There was this one summer day, if I could remember it right that was mid of April when my ride going to a shopping center became extraordinary. I didn't saw a miraculous event nor saw the man in my dreams but I saw two kids running around the busy streets of Cebu. Seeing those two kids was running made me think that they are playing under the hit of the sun, enjoying their younger years. But when I took a second look, I saw them bringing something and they are not actually playing around the streets. They were selling rugs from every car that came across their way.

Was this their summer job? But why do they need to earn and risk their lives on streets. With their small structured body size they could be harm easily and God forbids an accident may come anytime their way. Then I saw a man from a luxurious type of car call them out and bought several pieces of their products and I saw how delightful they were. That genuine kind of joy was indeed worth sacrificing for them.
