So it's in your mind and you are going to do it - Run your own hairdresser business that is. However it's a new venture for you - you have never done it in the past and you need a helping hand, baby steps to accomplish your goal. Don't worry we will cover all the help you will need.
So how do you run a new venture? You have constantly been the one who is told what to do. Right away the shoe is truly on the other foot - you bestow the commands now. But what orders do you give to your staff? What signals do you send out? How do you realize if what you are doing or saying is the appropriate thing for your new hairdresser business? It was uncomplicated in the past...the boss spoke...and you carried out what he/she said then you got paid at the end of the day. Having your own business is a little trickier, if you get things off beam now, not only will you not get rewarded (or get remunerated less), your lack of decisiveness could impact detrimentally upon your employees.
Be careful when operating your own business - for sure you like to make wealth, but not at all costs. What are the costs of business compared with just being an employee? You have more duty to yourself, your relatives and employees if you have any - they are all dependent on you for their economic security. Scary! Operating your own business commonly means running longer hours and you may not make any wealth from working those longer hours where in the past you may have got paid per hour/day. A guaranteed wage!
However having no financial worries is a great comfort though.
Were you one of those at school? Who's school statement said..."This one will never amount to much!" What a feeling that would be to go back into your old school and say to your old teacher - "look I am operating my own business now - how's the teaching going these days?"
People have different reasons for becoming an capitalist - we are not the same; and as such you will no doubt intend to do things in a more enhanced way than you have seen done by other bosses in previous jobs you have had.
Hardly any people begin their own business - most people do not have that "daring do". The point is do you have it? Are you going to push yourself in business as well as in life?
