Russian Arabian Horses, All You Need To Know

Russian Arabian horses are a well known breed throughout the world

. This breed of horse is one of the more popular ones because of its nature, temperament and versatility. They were breed in Russia in a breeding program around 1930 at Tersk. The Arabian is one of the oldest breed of horses that are around, and archaeologist have found significant evidence that they have dated back to nearly 4,500 years. Ever since then, the breed Russian Arabian has been used in a wide range of uses and are still one of the sort after breeds there is.

The Arabian side of these horses were supposed to have originated on the Arabian Peninsula. They have a distinct head and body structure that makes this horse different from all the others. The head stands high and has a certain distinct look about it while the tail carriage is higher than most other breeds.

Cross breeding this horse into many other breeds have become popular over time. Because of the strong bone structure they are able to put strength back into other breeds of horses that may have a finer built body. Although these horses have a good temperament and nature, they also have an alertness and a high spirit from times when they were used throughout wars and other history making events. They were used in many wars throughout the times because they were the strong and a more durable animal than most.

In today's world these horses are now being used in sporting events and many other recreation activities. They are great for endurance rides because of their hardiness, and they are also used in quite a few fields of equestrian activities.


Standing between 155 to 145 centimetres in height, they are able to support the riders weight while still being able to move efficiently. This breed of animal also has a higher ability to learn more than the average horse, it has a striking intelligence that is used when training this animal. There are many different colours that this horse can come in and they are chestnut, grey, bay, roan and black. While they can be all these colours, their skin is black underneath to help keep it from being burnt from the sun.

Although they are a hardy breed they are not immune from genetic diseases that can affect them. There are around 6 known diseases that can affect this horse, while a few can be treatable, most are usually fatal or the horse has to be put down due to the suffering of the animal.
