Rust Damage
Rust is a constant problem on most cars over the age of 4 years old. It's something which is inevitable on older cars and can cost hundreds of pounds to repair especially if left to fester. The onset of rust can be reduced by constant maintenance and vigilance using different techniques but in the end rust will manage to pop its ugly head out of a corner that you probably over looked or had never seen. The main areas where rust forms is near or on seals where the water sits, like door edges, boot seals or wheel arches. The best way to reduce the chance of rust damage build up on these sensitive areas is to clean the rubber seals regularly, by doing this it will keep the flow of water runoff smooth and not let the water pool up therefore reducing the possibility of rust build up on these sections.
Rust can also form on areas where the paint work has been broken and not treated, like stone chips, panel scratches and scuffs. The best way to reduce your chance of rust build up in these areas is to purchase some of the cars paint in the form of a touch up stick, clean the damaged area and when dry touch over with the brush provided with the paint touch up kit, this will seal the broken paintwork from the outside elements like snow, rain and salt which are the main cause of rust damage.
If all else fails and rust spots start to form around your vehicle there are a few options available.
Mobile Car Body Repairs
This type of service comes to your home or place of work in order to carry out the car body repair. They are specialist repairers on small to medium area repairs which includes rust spot repairs. The only down fall with this type of service is that they can't repair larger area repairs.
Accident Repair Centres/Auto Repair Centres
This type of service is a static site shop. They require that you bring the car to them, they can take up to a week to repair the vehicle and accident repair centres are the more costly option of the ones available.

This is the cheaper option of the 3, as long as you know what you are doing, if you don't and make a complete hash of the repair it will only cost you even more to repair your repair.
