Seve Ballesteros is the most popular Ryder Cup golfer, voted by UK golf fans, ahead of Nick Faldo and Colin Montgomerie.

The Spanish legend played for Europe in a total of nine Ryder Cups from 1979 1995 and was voted by 32% of respondents as their favourite while Nick Faldo earned 25% and 2010 European captain Colin Montgomerie 14%. Around 1,000 UK golf fans surveyed also identified Spain (60%) as the country with the strongest Ryder Cup heritage out of all the bidding nations for the 2018 Ryder Cup - ahead of Portugal (12%) and France (9%) and Spain was also the preferred destination to host the 2018 event (37%), ahead of closest rivals Portugal (23%).
