SC2 Terran : The Confederacy

In nearly all facets of their biology, the terrans are identical to 21st century humans; however, they are steadily becoming a powerful psionic species. They only recently landed on the Koprulu sector around year 2300 via spaceships and are the lineage of a terrible immigration mission initiated from Earth hundreds of years ago. The newcomers to the Koprulu sector were rebels and protestors the government felt were disposable. The phrase terran commonly relates to the people coming down from the survivors of the "Long Sleep." These survivors set up three settlements that developed into the foundation for the largest and most dominant alliances in terran space: the Confederacy, the Umojan Protectorate, and the Kel-Morian Combine. From all the destruction, terror, and tyranny imposed on the terran masses, they have become a fundamentally segregated people. The crooked Confederacy was toppled by radical and insurgent Arcturus Mengsk of the Sons of Korhal during the turmoil of the zerg offensive. Now, Emperor Arcturus I and his Terran Dominion have ascended from the dust and claimed power over the majority of the people.

During the Great War, the terrans were ambushed by alien species called the zerg, who threatened to wipe out their population. The zerg captured Sarah Kerrigan, a terran ghost operative, and transformed her into a powerful psionic force. Alarmed by the existence of another life form in space, The United Earth Directorate launched an Expeditionary Fleet up to the Koprulu Sector to fight off the zerg invasion and prevent a future threat on planet Earth. Kerrigan, who underhandedly promised allegiance to her former race, deceitfully took hold of the Zerg Swarm through treacherous attacks on the controlling zerg Overmind. When things were finally stabilized around the Koprulu Sector, the UED launched an attack on the Terran Dominion but were squashed by Infested Kerrigan, and her new army of zerg subordinates.

Abilities

The terrans' technology has improved significantly since their last contact with Earth, 200 years ago. They now have the capability of building teleports and space hubs, altering one's memories, travelling at the speed of light, and creating holograms for transmitting messages. Their battle weapons have also greatly advanced and now contribute to the success against their zerg and protoss adversaries. They've developed highly efficient ionic artillery, nuclear warheads, siege battlecruisers, and spaceships. They can also swiftly restore damaged vehicles and units during combat. The primary key to their success on the battlefield lies in their flexibility. Their warfare units are outfitted with jetpacks which allow them to avoid highly dangerous conditions. As a result, they are masters of survival.

Additionally, their forced expedition into space has required them to adapt to severe planetary conditions. Consequently, they've developed tenacious and unshakable willpower. In comparison to the protoss and zerg military advantages, the terran's ground forces are comprised of a mixed set of battle units. From simple yet powerful foot soldiers like the marines to tremendously armed tanks, the terran units depend on abundant ammo, plated armor, and power in numbers to resist opposition.
