SEO Blow Up
Most site owners have some idea of what is SEO. Very few have any understanding what is involved.
Let me begin with the advice that there are no magic tricks in SEO. It's all plain hard work. Level of difficulty is about the same as working advancedwith emails.
There are also reasonably priced software tools out there that actually do work, and, importantly, are within the Terms Of Service of all the search engines.
So what's the problem? Why isn't every website owner doing this SEO thing?
All SEO productive output requires filling-in a submission formof some type.
First you need the addresses to go to so that you can complete a submission. But you also need to evaluate the worth of a link from this site. You are best served submitting a form to a site that is held in high authority by the search engines. Websites with low or no ranking will basically have their links ignored.
Many of these sites require you to register before you can submit, some even declaring a trial period before you can post, of up to 3 months!
Let's look at that for a moment - your single SEO aim is to increase traffic to your website.
You are doing this by increasing your authority with the search engines so that your website will be displayed page one of the search engines for your search keywords.
You do this by having other sites display a link to your website. This is the product of your submissions.
So you will need to:
Build your keyword list.
The most effective process is to locate 5 of your competitors and see what are the keywords they are using, both in their page titles and keyword meta tags.
Using each keyword or keyphrase, one at a time, go to each search engine and run a search for that keyword/phrase and record what position is your competitor- on page one only (do not go past page one).
Next, you need to go to Google Adwords Keyword External Discovery tool. Enter each keyword and search. Show all columns. Re-order the list to have the rank bypopularity option. And so on.
Using these records, and your judgement, reduce your list to 5 items. These will be the keywords you will be associating with your website. You will be competing against many other people, all trying to achieve high ranking for the same keyword/phrases.
Submit Your Site
Each timeyou do a submission, you will need to do 5, one for each keyword/phrase and pointing to a different page on your website. Submit to sites within a similar industry as is your website
An accomplished operator can get through about 6 of these submissions per day. That's a full day - 8 solid hours.
To be safe and more likely to be seen as authority by the search engines, you will need to make about 1,000 submissions. Not all of these submissions will see the light of day. I would be pleased with 25% success rate. That's 250 links from authority sites - that will drive you up in all of the search engine rankings.
Content
But, and this is the big but, nothing will work to get you on page one if your site lacks content -stories, comments, articles, information - all in plain text, all fresh, alloriginal. Regular additions are vital. One new page per day is a great schedule. Do it one a month if you like. The more often you do this, the better it is for you.
Search engines will index your pages, you will start appearing on page one, you will get more visitors.
Get Started
Right now. If you don't do anything else, you can finish these tasks in about one year - 8 solid hours work per day.
Let's see - that's about $2.50 per hour, instead of paying someone $5,000 to do the work.
That's if you've got nothing else to do for that year.
Or you can appoint an SEO Consultant to do all of that work.
Law of Diminishing Returns
There is some reluctance to embark on a full SEO program, with most site owners seeing it as too time & attention consuming or too expensive to outsource.
Eventually site owners and webmasters will experience epiphany and realise that the train is leaving the station without them and the general atmosphere will be one of "All Aboard".
There will develop a critical-mass event where everybody is into SEO and the level of difficulty will increase ten-fold. As will the expense.
Overnight.
Seriously skilled and efficient SEO providerscompeting with each other over a single piece of real estate.
No more amateurs.
The greater the competition there is for any given spot, the harder and more expensive will be the fight. With no guarantees to anyone.
