SEO: Submitting Your Link To A Bidding Directory by:Anil Vij

During the tedious process of Search Engine Optimization

, many a times I have had to think of alternate methods to find web pages that will accept outbound links. Then I hit upon bidding directories. Before I go into the details of a bidding directory, let me clarify on the stumble blocks in link submission. The inbound pages of a directory may rank much lower than the home page. So submitting on the home page that have a high ranking is a better option. And bidding directories are the best choices to submit your links on the home page itself.

These directories give you the freedom to choose the location for placing your link. Since the objective of link building is mainly to increase your own page ranking, placing the links on sites with a very high ranking is a highly result oriented option. A random case study of websites will convince you that it is the home page that has the maximum rank than the other pages. But how many directories allow you to place links on their home pages? A bidding directory is an exception.

But there is a catch. Only ten links will be displayed on the home page of a bidding directory. Whoever bids high will find a place on the home page. So there is a high risk factor involved in getting outbid and losing your slot on the home page.

However, you will be informed about the situation before your link is packed off to an internal page. This will give you an opportunity to outbid the competitor and thus allowing you to maintain your slot on the home page itself.

So, what is the actual submission procedure? Exactly the same norms in submitting to any other directory are followed. You have to consider all the other usual factors required for a normal directory submission for a bidding directory too including the selection of appropriate key words.

Bidding directories also allow you to place deep links that are directed towards an internal page of your own site instead of the usual home page. If you decide to use a deep link, then there is only one thing that should be taken care of to achieve maximum optimization. The key words! The keywords for submitting deep links should be the same as that of the particular pages instead of those of your home page.
