But despite the variety, there may still be lingering questions about the viability of the game in such a crowded market.

With recent disappointments like APB and the economy so hard pressed for so many people, a game really has to shine in multiple areas to bring in enough money to justify having it around. Games like Dungeons and Dragons Online, Everquest, and Lord of the Rings Online have all gone free to play in a effort to change their revenue model and bring new people in. What will SWTOR have to do to compete?

First of all SWTOR leveling will need to be spot on, with little downtime or punishment for choosing what may be an unpopular option. Classes need to be balanced and interesting to play throughout the lifetime of the character, from level 1 and on. And most importantly the creators, developers, techs, and everyone else involved with the game needs to be on the same page about creating and maintaining a quality product.

It's relatively easy to release a game out into the wild but it's something else entirely to keep it healthy and well trafficked for the long haul. In the end it will come down to the fickle desires of consumers, fans, and the gaming community at large. Nevertheless, there are lots of SWTOR leveling guides that are already available out there.
