SAB TVs Lapataganj team enacts Ramleela to celebrate Dusshera

SAB TVs most popular show Lapataganjs renowned artists Sucheta Khanna (Indumati), Rohitashv Gaur (Mukundilal) & Biji Pandey (Abbas Khan) etc are soon going to enact Ramleela with a twist in the show.

Based on satirist Sharad Joshi Ki Kahaniyan the show highlights a tale of imaginary small town called Lapataganj (means a lost place). It is a small town in some state of the country which has been long forgotten by the system. The town struggles daily for basic facilities yet the people residing here are the happiest of the lot. Lapataganj captures the spirit of a common man to lead a happy life against all odds.

Several characters like Mukundilal (Rohitashv Gaur), his wife Indumati (Sucheta Khanna) & Biji Pandey (Abbas Khan) reside in Lapataganj and interesting series of events that occur in their everyday life are shown in the show.

In upcoming episodes Lapataganj will be presenting Ramleela which is comparing Ramrajya with todays society. Lapataganj will show you the essence of Ramleela and how in todays day and age the common man cannot fight for a ramrajya because they themselves live in Ravan raj.Once again Mukundilal will become Ram and Lallan Mukundis Jija will enact Ravan.

Mukundilal aka Rohitashv Gaur said that, I love being associated with SAB TV as they showcase comedy with a purpose. In our show too we will present ramleela in todays day and age and leave viewers with a message.

He further added that, I love coming back to this city as I have seen that the people appreciate culture and art deeply.

Indumati aka Sucheta Khanna said that, I am delighted to play the role of new age Sita and the problems faced by her and her encounter with Ravan.There are several interesting moments and twists that will bring laughter and fun in your daily stressful lives and will also leave you with a thought.

Biji Pandey aka Abbas Khan said that, Though I am enjoying portraying the character of Laxman, my only problem is that my dhoti keeps coming off! I truly wonder how the other actors are wearing their dhotis with such ease!
