Safe Weight Loss is a Natural Weight Loss Lifestyle

Safe Weight Loss is a Natural Weight Loss Lifestyle

Safe weight loss does not involve pills, powders or liquid supplements. Safe weight loss is not artificial weight loss, but rather natural weight loss. It's something you do every day to lose weight to get to your target weight. And, you continue to do it to maintain your target weight.

Safe weight loss involves lifestyle changes. It's actually a way of life that slim, trim and energetic people practice. The problem is that most people who are overweight live in ways that cause them to be overweight. Their lifestyle is natural and normal to them.

Does this mean that you have to make changes to how you eat and act in order to lose weight safely and permanently?

The short and long answer is simply, "Yes."

A small minority of people have a genetic proclivity that pushes them toward being overweight or being skinny. But, for most people, their body weight is a result of lifestyle choices. And it's changes in lifestyle choices that will make the difference between being overweight and being slim, trim, and energetic.

So, if you are ready to transition from overweight to slim, trim and energetic you must be ready to change some lifestyle choices. Now let's get started.

First, overweight people eat too much of the wrong kinds of foods. Whether you know it or not, most people eat the equivalent of 22 spoon fulls of sugar each and every day. A lot of this sugar get stored as fat. A good portion of this sugar comes in soft drinks.

The National Institute of Health reports on a number of studies that concluded that consumption of sugar sweetened soft drinks is closely related to weight gain. Here are a couple of conclusions:

-"Higher consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages is associated with a greater magnitude of weight gain and an increased risk for development of type 2 diabetes in women, possibly by providing excessive calories and large amounts of rapidly absorbable sugars."

- "Consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs), particularly carbonated soft drinks, may be a key contributor to the epidemic of overweight and obesity..."

But, sugars also come in many other forms. The favorite sugar of food manufacturers is high fructose corn syrup. Just look on any packaged food and you'll probably see high fructose corn syrup, molasses, or other sugary ingredients.

The solution is simple. Stop drinking sugary beverages and stop eating manufactured food laced with sweeteners. Instead shop on the periphery of the grocery story where natural fruits, vegetables, and meats are located. Add in some dairy products and whole grain breads. Eat, as far as possible, natural foods that are not manufactured and packaged.
