Saif Ali Khan, was touted to start shooting for Race 2 after the completion of his shooting for Prakash Jha's Aarakshan. But the buzz is that he will start shooting for his home production instead which will be directed by Homi Adjania. It was almost certain that Saif will be a part of Race 2, after he met with stupendous success with his portrayal of Ranvir Singh in Race. Saif's new look, his attitude, was much appreciated in the 2008 film. So why is Saif refusing to be a part of Race 2?

Insiders have it that Saif after having gone through the script did not find his role exciting and meaty enough. John Abraham's entry into the project has made Saif uncomfortable and is acting as a deterrent. Though Abbas Mastan are in constant talks with Saif as they want to have him as the male lead in their film, it looks like a tough task to convince Chhote Nawaab this time, who is more inclined to go ahead with his home production!! Well, it is for time to tell, as Saif will spell out his final decision only after he wraps up shooting for Prakash Jha's Aarakshan in Bhopal.

Bollywood critics had almost written off Saif Ali Khan after his debut in 1992 in the film Parampara as he failed to make his mark. However, things turned around for him in 2001, with Farhan Akhtar's Dil Chahta Hai' and there has been no looking back ever since. Saif has portrayed a variety of roles for different film makers in films like, Hum Tum, Love Aaj Kal, Salaam Namaste, Omkara, Parineeta, in which he proved his mettle as a versatile actor.
