Saint Louis Rams - After The Draft And Before The Season

Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, the Saint Louis Rams have been through two names and three bases before assuming their current team name and colors. The winner of three NFL (National Football League) Championships and one Super Bowl, the St. Louis Rams first started out as the Cleveland Rams in Ohio.

In 1946, they shifted base to Los Angeles, and were then known as the Los Angeles Rams. Between 1979 and 1995, the club played in Orange County, before finally moving to St. Louis. They are part of the Western Division of the NFC or the National Football Conference, and they have not done well in the last few seasons of American football.

For three years, the Saint Louis team have gone 6-42, and are in need of a good patch-up. They had the first pick at this year's draft, and made a difficult decision between a few good players - each ranked first in one or few of the Mock Drafts. They decided to go with Sam Bradford - Oklahoma's quarterback who had the most number of number one rankings in the mock drafts. Sam Bradford suffered severe injuries early last year, and had to undergo shoulder surgery. However, he was the number one pick in this year's draft, and the Rams now have a rookie quarterback who could very well tip the scales in their favor in the upcoming season.

The other players the team went with in the draft this year were Rodger Saffold, Jerome Murphy, Mardy Gilyard, Mike Hoomanawanui, Hall Davis, Fendi Onobun, Eugene Sims, Marquis Johnson, George Selvie and Josh Hull - an offensive tackle from Indiana, a cornerback from South Florida, a wide receiver from Cincinnati, a tight end from Illinois, a defensive end from Louisiana-Lafayette, a TE from Houston, an A&M DE from West Texas, a CB from Alabama, a DE from South Florida and an inside linebacker from Penn State. The upcoming season will tell whether the Saint Louis team have fared well in this year's draft.
