Types of Sales Agents

" Sales broker/seller agents - this is a common role and involves a sales agent representing a seller (individual or company).


" Buyer Broker - this is a sales agent that represents the buyer making the purchase. This sort of agent is typically used for larger commercial transactions.

" Transaction Broker - this sales agent does not represent either party and is just in charge of making sure the paperwork relating to a transaction is completed properly.

" Disclosed Dual Agent - a dual agent represent both parties in a sales transaction and performs a mediator role to ensure that both receive a fair deal.

" Sales Manager - the sales manager will oversee the implementation of sales strategies and liaise between the sales and marketing departments. Sales managers may also manage a team of sales agents and organize motivational incentives to assist with the achievement of sales targets.

" Direct Sales Agents - this type of sales agent will contact people directly to encourage sales. This could be in person or via telephone. This can involve 'cold calling' which is where sales agents visit properties or telephone potential customers without an appointment. People who set up social gatherings to sell a product range such as make up or clothing are also classed as direct sales agents.

" Real Estate Agent - sales agent that deal with property transactions (commercial and residential) are known as real estate agents. This type of agent can represent either the buyer or seller (or both).
